Aegean Arts Circle Writer’s Conference in Andros

Andros has inspired poets, writers and painters for many centuries. Since 2003, Andros Holiday Hotel has played host to the Aegean Arts Circle Creative Writing Conference in Andros, created and organized by Director Amalia Melis whose family roots are from Andros.

The leaders of these conferences in Andros are award-winning international authors who lead small, intensive creative writing workshops at Andros Holiday Hotel. Aegean Arts Circle is a quiet get-away for budding and published writers who come from all over Europe, United States and Canada and want to start a new novel, get feedback on their writing, re-write a manuscript and be in the company of fellow writers. Each writer gets a single room with private balcony overlooking the sea, dinners made just for the group at Andros Holiday Hotel. Each small group of writers are well cared by the friendly, helpful staff and owner so they could find the time for inspiration and find their writers’ voice. There is time to read, swim in the hotel’s pool or private beach or explore Gavrio town on foot and spend a day visiting Hora, the capital of the island – its marble paved pedestrian walks, neo-classical houses, many museums and galleries.
